The existing warning system at dams operated by Romanian energy supplier Hidroelectrica has been expanded by HÖRMANN Warnsysteme and local partner QBS Quality Business Solutions, with new safety functions added.
Hidroelectrica operates several hydropower plants, and it is important to the company that it has an efficient warning system in place for populations who live downstream of the dam.
The company has opted for 560 sirens from HÖRMANN warning systems which would warn the population in the event of a leak or the controlled release of the dam. The siren system has communication gateways featuring the latest technology, which can trigger all 560 sirens together, but also a single siren or selected siren groups.
