Indonesian contractor PT Duta Graha Indah Tbk has awarded Australia-based SMEC a contract to provide consultancy services for the 5.5MW Batang Gadis hydroelectric project on the Batang Gadis River in Mandailing Natal, North Sumatra, Indonesia.
SMEC’s services will include: preparation of a prefeasibility study, a feasibility study, plant designs and hydrological studies to assess potential river flow. The objective of the studies is to identify the best location for the hydroelectric plant.
