Work could start soon on a 150MW hydropower scheme on the Bongka River in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia, developer Soma Power Indonesia has announced.

The local power producer has presented plans for the scheme to government officials at the end of last week, with the project expected to require investment of between US$300 million to $450 million.

The Jakarta Post reported that the company has secured all necessary permits for development from the government and the Central Sulawesi Forestry Agency.
