Studio Pietrangeli, in association with DMR Hydroengineering & Infrastructures Ltd, has begun consultancy work on the proposed 24MW Zungki and 42MW Lower Tizu hydropower projects in Nagaland, India.

The assignment covers due diligence and updates to the detailed project report, including a review of the schemes’ technical, economic, financial, institutional and implementation aspects.

The consultancy team recently completed its first site mission in Nagaland, coordinating with the client, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and specialists undertaking environmental and social impact studies.

The team also visited the Kiphire area, where the proposed dam sites are located, to gather information on topography, geology, site access and available construction areas. The fieldwork included consideration of potential alternative dam locations.

Studio Pietrangeli and DMR will work with ADB, local institutions and project stakeholders during the next stages of the assignment.
