Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings company TEPCO Renewable Power is planning to spend between US$9-18 million over the next 15 years on investments in hydroelectric power in Southeast Asia, and offshore wind farms in Asia and North America, Reuters has reported.
Reuters interviewed Seiichi Fubasami, president of TEPCO Renewable Power, last week and he told the agency that the company is aiming to develop 2-3GW of hydropower and 2-3GW of offshore wind.
TEPCO Renewable Power owns 163 hydroelectric power stations in Japan that produce a total output of approximately 9.87 million kW of electricity. It has also invested in hydropower in Vietnam.
