The 72MW scheme is to be built in Wairau valley, in Marlborough, and will convey river takeoff through six plants over 50km, including the existing Branch River facility.
Interim resource consents for the NZ$275M (US$194M) scheme were issued just over a year ago following more than six months of hearings and reviews. The scheme was first proposed six years ago.
