A recent examination of the Gumati 1 plant’s four turbines found that they urgently needed repair and upgrading. They are understood to date from the 1950s.
The repairs will be undertaken by the end of 2006.

Russia’s Silovye Mashiny has signed a contract worth US$2.7M to repair turbines at the Gumati 1 hydroelectric power plant in Georgia.
