Following recent Russian missile and drone strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure, representatives of Ukrhydroenergo inspected the Kremenchuk hydropower plant to assess the extent of damage and plan restoration efforts.

The Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Valentyn Gvozdiy, and board member Steve Walsh visited the facility to evaluate operational conditions and review safety measures. During their visit, they met with plant management to discuss staff safety, equipment protection, and the sequence of repair work.

According to Ukrhydroenergo, the inspection will help determine whether financial plans or resource allocations need adjustment to support recovery efforts at the site.

The Prosecutor General’s Office reported that on the night of November 8, Russian forces launched a combined missile and drone attack on several regions of Ukraine. In the Kirovohrad region, around 15 drone strikes and two missile hits targeted the Kremenchuk Hydropower Plant in Svitlovodsk, causing fires on two transformers that were quickly extinguished.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for war crimes related to the attack. Prosecutors and investigators from the Security Service of Ukraine and National Police are documenting evidence of the strike and its impact on civilian infrastructure.
