Another milestone has been reached at a project to modernise RusHydro’s Cheboksary hydropower plant with commissioning of the upgraded hydraulic unit number 6. The latest commissioning means that 15 out of 18 hydraulic units at the plant now have reconstructed turbines, and ten have renewed stators.

The new stator of the unit No. 6 – suppled by Power Machines – is characterized by improved operations, including vibrations and characteristics. During the project, the hydraulic unit automatic control system was also replaced, and the hydraulic turbine impeller was overhauled.

Power Machines is continuing to implement the Cheboksary modernization project, with work underway on two more hydraulic units.
