The project is being built by the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation Ltd (NHPC), near Salamabad village in the town of Uri. Work is currently on schedule.
Uri-II set for commissioning in 2011
Over 80% of construction work has been completed on the 240MW Uri-II hydroelectric project on the River Jhelum in Jammu and Kashmir, India, with the project set to become fully operational in February 2011, Reuters has reported.
