Voith Hydro North America President and CEO, Stanley Kocon, has been named to the 2022-2024 Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee (REEEAC).

Now in its 7th Charter, REEEAC is established by the International Trade Administration within the Department of Commerce. Its purpose is to advise US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo regarding the development and administration of programs and policies to expand the competitiveness of U.S. exports of renewable energy and energy efficiency goods and services. Its current members span the renewable energy industry including developers, manufacturers, nonprofits, think tanks and policy organizations, finance, labor, and trade associations.

“It is an honor to join the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Advisory Committee, and I look forward to working with my fellow members to formulate our recommendations for Secretary Raimondo,” said Kocon. “The Biden Administration has demonstrated a deep commitment to expanding renewable energy, relying on equipment and technology produced right here in America. Hydropower has a vital role to play in meeting the Administration’s energy goals, and I am confident the world’s original renewable energy source will be featured prominently in our final recommendations.”

The inaugural meeting of the 7th Charter of the REEEAC took place in December. In total, the 6th Charter of the REEEAC (2020-2022) held nine meetings and submitted 12 recommendations to the US Department of Commerce.
