Wave Energy Rider’s converter utilises an innovative mechanical technology designed to provide a high level of efficiency and durability. The pilot project – which will involve an initial investment of $5M – will be located 800m off-shore and a depth of 30m on a limestone sea bed.
News of this project follows the South Australian Government’s approval of its first wave power licence in February this year to Carnegie Corporation, who will test a site along the Limestone Coast, near Port MacDonnell, with a view to building a demonstration 50MW station.
