Hydro-Québec has suspended work on part of its La Romaine hydro project in Quebec, following the death of a worker at the site.

51 year old Luc Arpin died on Friday following a rockface collapse in the section he was working on, CBC reported. His death is the fourth at the project since construction began back in 2009.

According to CBC, the site of the accident is unsafe, and Hydro-Québec is working with the contractor and geology experts to determine the best way to access the area.

A special health and saefty committee is now being put into place at the project, to be chaired by Hydro-Québec president and CEO Éric Martel.
