EDF to install Eco-flow Turbinator

The Turbinator is a compact small hydro turbine with an integrated permanent magnetised generator. Following successful installations in Norway, CleanPower is now focusing on the market of European eco-flow releases. French energy company EDF has selected it for the upgrade of the eco-flow release on the Raviège dam in the Tarn region in South-West France, the installation is expected to start test production during the first half of 2018.

Riverlab is a research group based at the University of California Berkeley College of Environmental Design in the US. Led by Professor GM Kondolf, Riverlab strives to inform project planning and water resources use with a catchment-scale perspective on natural processes. Recently, researchers from Riverlab have been involved in research on geomorphic impacts of hydropower dams, dam sediment trapping, network scale planning of hydropower cascades, geomorphology and sediment transport in many large rivers (mainly in SE Asia).
