Pre-qualification applications have been sought for three different lots of the Adjarala 125MW hydroelectric scheme. They concern the civil works (50m high fill or RCC dam), the hydro-electromechanical equipment, and the last, grouping the 161kV transformers, substations and lines. Tenderers for the equipment should propose financing plan (buyer credit type).

Joint venture awarded Kárahnjúkar contract

A joint venture led by Mott MacDonald and comprising Línuhönnun, Fjarhitun and HNIT from Iceland plus European companies Coyne et Bellier, SWECO and Norconsult, has been appointed by national power company Landsvirkjun to oversee construction of a 190m high concrete faced rockfill dam and a 60km tunnel in eastern Iceland.
