MRC says bold actions needed to address low Mekong flows

China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam have all been urged to take steps to address regional low flows, water fluctuations and drought as the Lower Mekong River experiences record low flows for the third consecutive year.

Pöyry to supervise construction of Xayaburi hydro power project

Pöyry's energy business group has been awarded a technical consultancy services assignment for the Xayaburi hydro power project in Lao PDR. The company will support the Government of Lao and project owner Xayaburi Power Company during the eight-year implementation period, by reviewing the design and supervising project construction. Both parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the assignment.
