In a joint initiative led by the Energy Community Secretariat, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and Montenegro have established a cross-border dialogue working group to address the challenges surrounding the Buk Bijela hydropower project, which is situated on the border between the two countries.

The inaugural meeting of the working group was held at the Energy Community Secretariat's premises, where delegates from both BiH and Montenegro engaged in productive discussions concerning the Buk Bijela project. Facilitated by the Secretariat, the working group developed a comprehensive roadmap with specific timelines, outlining a structured approach to resolving the outstanding issues.

One of the key objectives of the cross-border dialogue working group is to actively seek feedback and conduct consultations with the concerned public. By adopting an inclusive approach, the working group ensures that the perspectives and concerns of the public are duly considered in their deliberations.

The Energy Community Secretariat plays a vital role in facilitating information exchange and coordination among all relevant parties. It provides guidance and support to the working group, enabling effective implementation of the tasks outlined in the roadmap and addressing potential challenges that may arise.

To maintain the momentum and commitment towards resolving the identified issues, the working group has scheduled its next meeting for September.
