ACCIONA Energía has agreed to sell a 64MW hydropower portfolio in northern Spain to White Summit Capital, an infrastructure investment manager focused on the energy transition.

The transaction, valued at €66m on a debt-free basis, covers 18 small hydroelectric plants, including 17 located in Navarra and one in La Rioja. The facilities have installed capacities ranging from 1MW to 6.2MW and operate under long-term concession agreements.

The deal is expected to close in the coming weeks and generate an estimated capital gain of €55m for ACCIONA Energía.

According to the company, the transaction forms part of its selective asset rotation strategy, which aims to maximise project value, optimise capital allocation and strengthen its financial position.

Since 2024, ACCIONA Energía has reached agreements for the sale of nearly 2.7GW of renewable energy capacity across Spain, Peru, Costa Rica, South Africa, the US and Mexico, with a combined value of close to €3.3bn.
