AFRY has been appointed to support the development of the 191MW Thana Plaun Hydropower Project on the Beas River in Himachal Pradesh, India.

Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (HPPCL) has selected AFRY to provide detailed design, project management and construction supervision services for the project, which is located in Mandi district.

The consultancy assignment will be carried out in two phases. During the first phase, AFRY will provide tender-stage engineering and procurement support.

The second phase will cover detailed design and construction supervision during project implementation, together with other project delivery services.

The Thana Plaun project forms part of Himachal Pradesh’s plans to increase renewable electricity generation and strengthen the state’s power infrastructure.

The project is expected to be delivered in 2032.
