HYDROGRID has introduced a new Investment Simulation module to its hydro software suite, designed to support strategic decision-making for asset owners and project developers. Norwegian developer CADRE is among the first to implement the new tool.

The module builds on HYDROGRID’s existing Insight platform, incorporating features like digital twin technology to simulate investment and operational scenarios. It allows users to model real-world conditions and assess financial outcomes before committing to investment strategies.

According to HYDROGRID, the module provides several benefits:

  • It quantifies revenue and generation impacts of potential investments, such as plant upgrades or operational changes.
  • It supports project prioritization based on profitability and impact.
  • It reduces commercial risk in mergers and acquisitions through detailed outcome simulations.
  • It enables users to evaluate how regulatory changes could affect operations and compliance.

“The Investment Simulation module is a game-changer for our clients, providing them with the tools to make informed decisions and optimize their investments,” said Philipp Parrer, Product Director at HYDROGRID. “We are excited to partner with CADRE and bring this innovative solution to the Norwegian market.”

Øystein Flåt, Head of Asset Management at CADRE, said the platform offered valuable insights from the outset. “Using the HYDROGRID Insight platform has been an easy and straightforward experience, and provided us with an outstanding level of detail and interactivity. Already in our first simulation project, we explored how different technologies can increase potential revenue with up to 14.5%, which directly informed our investment decision. This advanced technology will significantly speed up our ability to navigate complex investment decisions ensuring maximum profitability for our partners.”
