Renovation of the Maureille hydroelectric power plant in France has moved into its next phase, with demolition work nearing completion and civil engineering activities underway ahead of the installation of new equipment.
Hydropower producer Serhy said work on the plant is progressing according to schedule following the successful draining of the structures. The operation has provided access to infrastructure affected by the renovation and allowed work to proceed under suitable conditions.
Demolition of the existing infrastructure is now almost complete, clearing the way for the next stage of the project.
In parallel, civil engineering work has started to prepare the plant for the installation of hydraulic vacuum cleaners supplied by MTI Mécanique et Travaux Industriels. The work forms part of preparations for the subsequent installation of new production equipment.
The next stage will see civil engineering activities continue before installation of the new generating equipment begins.
Once these works are completed, the project will move towards recommissioning and the return of the Maureille hydroelectric power plant to production.
