Design and Execution of the Estí Tunnel Repair Work in (Panama)

On 7 June, 2012 Panama’s Estí hydroelectric power station resumed operations after nearly 2 years out of service due to the problems detected in the load tunnel of the facility. Following the repair work carried out by the company Obras Subterráneas on the above-mentioned tunnel, owners AES Panamá now benefit from a greater generation capacity, as the load loss in the tunnel has decreased by 30%.
