The European Commission has extended the deadline for its survey on the manufacturing capacity of hydropower equipment producers until the end of October 2025.

So far, 26 companies have taken part. The Commission says wider participation is needed to ensure the hydropower sector is properly represented in the upcoming CETO report and within the framework of the Net Zero Industry Act (NZIA).

The survey aims to collect data on the capacity, challenges, and opportunities of European hydropower manufacturers. The results will contribute to the NZIA’s objective of strengthening Europe’s clean technology production and creating green jobs.

Participation is open to both EU and non-EU companies, as well as firms outside Europe. Responses can be submitted anonymously, and the data collected will be aggregated at EU or national level to protect individual company information.

The survey covers only hydropower-related equipment and excludes civil or concrete works. Companies are encouraged to provide actual data where possible, though estimates will be accepted if specified.

A section of the annual CETO report will be dedicated to findings from the survey.
