McMillen has announced the appointment as Vincent Cormier as its Canada Technical Lead of Hydropower & Dams.

Cormier has more than 15 years of experience in hydropower, dam safety, hydrotechnical engineering and water infrastructure in Canada and internationally. His work has included hydropower development, reservoir and flood studies, and hydraulic design.

He joins McMillen from WSP, where he was Western Canada and Territories Lead for Hydropower & Dams. In that role, he built the regional team and supported bids for new work across Canada.

At McMillen, Cormier will lead and expand the existing team of engineers and technical professionals. His responsibilities will include regional operations, financial performance and strategic growth. He will work with Canadian Business Development Lead Merry Dang to identify opportunities and develop relationships with clients and industry partners.

Marissa Emmons, McMillen’s Senior Vice President of Business Development, said: “As we continue to expand our presence in Canada, Vincent brings the leadership, technical expertise, and market knowledge needed to support our long-term growth. He understands both the technical demands of this work and what it takes to build strong teams and client relationships. That combination makes him exceptionally well-positioned to help shape the future of our Canadian hydropower and dams practice.”

Cormier said: “Canada is home to some of the most important hydropower, dam safety, and water infrastructure opportunities in the world. McMillen has a long history in Canada, with a talented team, strong client relationships, and a respected technical reputation. I’m looking forward to strengthening that presence, creating new opportunities for our people, and bringing more of McMillen’s capabilities to clients and projects across the country.”

McMillen provides engineering, environmental and construction services across markets including dams, energy and water infrastructure.
