CVG Edelca has awarded a EUR 100M (US$12.9M) contract to modernise the Simon Bolivar hydro power station in Venezuela to a consortium comprising VA Tech Escher Wyss - a subsidiary of Andritz VA Tech Hydro - and Voith Siemens, Sao Paulo. The project will involve rehabilitation of five 770MW capacity Francis turbines.
