Norconsult has been appointed by Tussa Energi AS as advisory consultant for the development of the Tussa II hydropower plant in western Norway.

The contract covers detailed design of civil works as well as technical support during the follow-up of all project contracts.

Tussa II will replace the existing Tussa facility in Møre og Romsdal, which has been in operation for more than 60 years and is facing increasing maintenance requirements. The redevelopment will increase installed capacity from 60MW to 150MW, bringing the facility in line with current market demands.

“We are proud to secure yet another significant contract in the hydropower sector. This marks the fifth power plant under construction where Norconsult is serving as advisor and demonstrates our strong expertise in this field,” commented Håkon Bergsodden, EVP Renewable energy at Norconsult. “Tussa Energi AS is an important client for Norconsult, and we are genuinely looking forward to contributing our experience, resources and expertise to ensure a successful outcome.”

Norconsult has supported Tussa Energi throughout the project’s development phase, including concept design, collaboration with contractors and suppliers, and up to the final investment decision.

Construction is scheduled to begin in autumn 2026, with completion expected in 2030.
